10 weeks!

Baby has been growing for two months now (remember they date pregnancy back to before you even concieve) and has officially reached "fetus" status. This means Cappy has graduated to mobile arms and legs, a functioning liver, and fingernails. Way to go, kid! One of his embyonic features, the yolk sac, is shrinking since it is no longer needed. I'm gonna miss that cute balloon in the ultrasounds! Apparently, the fetus formerly known as Embryaco (come on with those clever names people!) is the size of a kumquat. I've never had one of these, but it looks cute, so I approve. On the other hand, Mommy is exhausted. Its tiring work growing a baby! Every night I think I may be starting to show, but every morning I wake up to a flat belly again. My weekly baby update says that my pants should be getting rather uncomfortable, but so far they feel the same. I think this is good because it would make my life easier if I didn't look pregnant at back to school night in a couple of weeks. Let's just say that parents of honors students can be completely insane and I know that they will only want to drill me about what will happen when I go on maternity leave. I'm sooooo not ready to deal with that.
