12 weeks!

So, we've finally reached the official traditional time where I am allowed to talk about being pregnant. Yay! Close friends and family, of course, already knew, but we still have some people on our list to share the news with. I will be telling the 8th grade team at work by the end of the week. The only people who need to be kept out of the loop are my students. I must get through back to school night (conveniently scheduled for our anniversary) and possibly even parent teacher conferences without parents pestering me about what will happen to their babies while I selfishly take maternity leave. ;)

Anyways, as I say EVERY week in the update, our sweet baby is growing like a weed! I just cannot get over how in the last month he has more than tripled in size! This week he is a plum, which I always thought looked like the most delectable of baby foods. :) Most of his major organs and systems are formed, so now the major task is growth and fine tuning. My book says that this week his kidneys are helping him secrete urine. That's right, my kid has starting peeing inside me. Gross! Also, another big highlight this week is that he is developing reflexes. I hope we get to poke him on Friday and see his little wiggling arms and legs on the ultrasound! :)
