14 weeks

So baby is the size of a lemon this week however I am craving LIMES! It must be a pregnancy craving because I never cared for them before, but I am obsessed with lime popsicles. I start out every morning with one! Yum! (For those I am making hungry, I highly recommend Whole Foods brand, there is no better popscicle on the market!) This week Cappy is working on growing lanugo, which is basically baby fur. He's also moving around like crazy, flexing his arms and facial muscles. On the last ultrasound, we thought it was possible he was sucking his thumb and my book suggested that babies suck their thumbs around this time. This just goes to illustrate Cappy's apparent genius! ;)

I had a Doctor's appointment today. I did the usual pee in a cup, weigh in (no weight gained this month) and vitals. The doctor used a Doppler to check out Cappy's heartbeat. She said everything sounds great. She asked me if I was feeling baby move and I said no. She thinks I may feel him sooner than other first time moms because he is very strong and active. She was pretty impressed with his movement. I'm really looking forward to feeling him.

Oh, and for those of you wondering, the "big ultrasound" is scheduled for my birthday, Nov. 6th. The best 28th birthday present I could think of is seeing my beautiful baby and knowing for sure that he is healthy! Oh, and it would be nice to know if he really is a he!
