So today we went for the first appointment with the OB. The nurse weighed me, took my blood pressure, and had me pee in a cup. Lucky for me, I will be doing this at every appointment. Because everyone knows peeing in a cup is awesome. Ugh. So we met the doctor and I really like her! She really listened to what I was saying and spoke to me like a normal person without using too much technical jargon or dumbing her words down. Because of my previous surgery, she thought it was best to get an ultrasound to rule out a tubal pregnancy. I couldn't have been happier that she suggested this because it is something that I have been worrying about. She did a physical exam and said things were looking good.
So we went and had lunch and then came back for the ultrasound. Immediately, a big black blob pops up on the screen. I figured it was my bladder until she announced that it was the gestational sac
in my uterus. Breathe sigh of relief! Cappy is measuring 7mm, which is right on target. The main highlight was when she showed us the little flicker of his heart beat. It was going 115 beats per minute. I'll be having another ultrasound in 2 weeks because the gestational sac is measuring way ahead of 6 weeks, 5 days, which makes my due date a bit ambiguous. I'm sticking with March 17th until I hear differently though. :)
Here are our little embryo's first pictures:
